Let’s plan a party – in record time
Some party planning ideas for you to chew on.
Is little Johnny getting his first tooth out – or perhaps big sister Sarah is having her first graduation night? Yes, I certainly feel what you’re thinking – I’ve been there – the party after wards. Please, please mother of all angels – HELP?
Well – being an experienced ala carte chef, girlfriend, wife, mother & all, let me share with you how I would deal with this – and as all great outcomes to be, it all starts with the ‘grande’ plan. So without further ado, let’s begin with some party planning ideas that have saved my ‘but’ more times than I wish to remember – here we go then:
1. The budget – make sure you don’t blow this – it’s the first priority of this whole process. Set your limits and force yourself to be more creative to get more bang for your buck.
2. Food – find out what this person likes by doing a little probing as to their likes or dislikes.
3. Theme - do we want everyone to dress up or down it’s your town, bring them down to your party town!
4. Numbers – the numbers of guests, this will determine the venue size.
5. The Occasion - is it a birthday, a graduation, a celebration of doing well? Just remember, it’s the journey that counts, not how it all turns out. A time to be remembered for all the right reasonsJ
6. The Creation - We have x $’s to spend – how to break it up will be our next focus.
Let’s break it down how we will spend it (% wise);
50% – Food
30% – Alcohol (or to save expense in this area make it BYO)
10% – theme decorations
10% – for any late minute add-on’s as the plan evolves.
And that pretty much covers it – have fun and remember to take heaps of pics and bookmark them!
Bye for now J
