Fun And Excting Birthday Celebration For Your Tots

Like some parents, I happen to be love planning themed parties for my children because I believe it makes them feel special. Last month, my now six-year old boy had a Scooby Doo Party. He became interested with the show when I told him where I got the names of our pets dogs, Scooby-doo and Scrappy-doo.

We handed out invitations that looked like Scooby Doo Mystery Machine one week ahead. We rented additional tables and chairs which came in green, blue and tropical orange colors. We had several activities to keep our young guests occupied. Among these were a Pin the Tail on Scooby game and film viewing station.

The best part of the event was when kids had to play a game where they had to deal with two 24-piece each, 24×36 inches floor Ravensburger jigsaw puzzle. The kids were organized into two teams. Each team had a good mix of little Thelmas, Freds, Shaggys, and Daphnes since we wrote “Dress-up like members of the Mystery Incorporated” on the invitations. We hid all pieces in different parts of the party area and in order to find them, the participants had to ask other guests for clues. Prices were given to those who completed the Ravensburger jigsaw puzzles the fastest and the winners of the other games we had for that day. Caramel-flavored cookies were placed in loot bags which bore the design of Scooby Snacks boxes and given to the young guests to take home.

We didn’t want to bother ourselves with the food preparation so we can attend to the guests more, hence we got the services of a caterer. My wife and I asked our kid what he wanted to eat during his special day, and pizzas and battered chicken were his immediate choices. We also served several other snacks and viands. As a nod to the theme, we had a cake made that looked like the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine.

With a very successful event, we can’t wait for my other kid’s birthday. There are so many to choose from but we are considering either a Disney Princess or a Fairytale Theme for my daughter’s fourth birthday.
