Gift Baskets Make Unique Holiday Gift Solutions

without comments

Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s Eve are right around the corner, so it’s a good idea to begin planning your gift list now. That’s especially true if you have a big family, or a lot of friends and/or clients to buy for. It’s also important if you’re like me and have a significant other who’s picky. It took a while but I eventually discovered that Italian gift baskets do the trick for him. He gets a nice assortment of things and I get to give a spectacular-looking gift that doesn’t cost that much. And I don’t even have to pick it up from the store, so it works for both of us. As a result, I’ve actually become a bit of a gift basket freak. The people in my life have come to expect them from me when I give them a present. And my friends tell me they look forward to getting them, so that lets me know I’m on the right track.

The good thing about gift baskets is that they come in so many varieties. When I want to send gifts to people who just finished moving into new houses, I usually send kosher gift baskets. Those also work well as elegant thank you gifts or when someone has finished remodeling a home. Still, there are occasions when I’m not really sure what to give, so I do a search by the person’s gender. Doing a Web search for “gift baskets for men” or the opposite usually produces a large selection of varied baskets that range from items that appeal to Baby Boomers to wine to desserts. So I usually find something I wouldn’t have thought to look for.

The only problem I have with shopping for gift baskets online is that I usually end up buying something myself! But I’ve made some great purchases that way. As a matter of fact, I’m still drinking some Parisian wines I bought in a gift basket I found while searching for a friend’s gift last month. As I write this I realized I should finish those bottles soon. I’m going to begin my Christmas shopping soon and I’m sure I’ll be buying plenty more for myself!

How to Make Every Treasure (Even Tasteless Ones) Work for You!

without comments

Wouldn’t be nice if there was an easy to give (and receive) gift?  Well, there is a better way my friend  The answer is Gift Baskets.

In this day and age we’re lucky if we get a fruit cake, don’t count on getting gift baskets.  I will give you some ideas of what to do with those unwanted gifts.

Anyone has been given a present that is not the most desired gift.  You can donate it to a worthy cause, or post it on www.freecycle.com where everything donated is free to users.  You may bury the unwanted gift in a box where you will hopefully never run into it again.  Whatever you do please do not throw the gift away.

We all know about re-gifting, a risky and often unsavory practice.  Regifting is usually never a acceptable custom.  Especially if the person that gave you the gift finds out.  There are a number of ways to make use of your gift, without the uncomfortable and deliberate re-wrapping and passing along.

1.  Create a “Treasure Box.”  I use a large tote.  Be sure to mark the item with whom it is from.

2. Place gifts that are of no use to you in the treasure chest.

3. Over time, group similar items together i.e. games, movies, an outfit, etc.

4. Try to give multiples of a like item.  For example favorite films.  Take the movies, wrap them individually, and put them in a large popcorn bowl. Include candies, chocolate, or whatever else you want to make the gift go further.  If you are giving the movies to an adult or family, put in a homemade gift certificate for one night of free babysitting (if they have kids).  The trick is to only purchase small items that add up to a big gift.  Make sure that you are not giving the gift back to the person you originally received it from.

Now those not so zesty or redundantgifts you have accumulated don’t need to go to waste.

We all want to make our gift giving a little easier, so might I suggest you head on over to Nectar of Life’s Coffee Gift Baskets page and have a look around?  So head on over to Nectar of Life Organic Coffee Company, they’ve got a great selection of coffee gift baskets and other gifts.
