Happy Birthday Cheesecake

without comments

My husband is going to be celebrating a major birthday soon.  I would like to commemorate this event by having a surprise birthday party for him. A quiet, composed man, he certainly would not enjoy a large affair. The guest list will remain limited…our immediate family and a few of our dearest friends.  Because my birthday boy has whatever he truly needs and since he would be extremely embarrassed by opening gifts, I have asked everyone to bring a funny card for him and, if they wish, to make a donation to their favorite charity in his honor.

I plan to host this surprise birthday party at our home.  We have a spacious back yard which is well suited to entertaining.  There is plenty of room for our parents and brothers and sisters to sit comfortably on the patio, as well as a nice grassy area for the younger children to cavort. Decorations will consist of strings of colored patio lights, which will also illuminate the area sufficiently.  Easy-listening music will be heard via speakers from our outdoor CD player to create an ambience of serenity.

In the past, finding suitable birthday refreshments has been a challenge because my husband is not a lover of cake.  I have substituted with various treats like pudding cups, chocolate chip cookies, and candy bars.  Since this birthday has such significance, I have chosen a decadent turtle cheesecake to take the place of the traditional birthday cake.  The crunchy, salted pecans and rich chocolate and caramel swirls which drizzle over the creamy cheesecake will be a treat my husband will find scrumptious.  It’s a delicious alternative that will satisfy all of our guests’ cravings.

Flash forward:  With all of the planning of this surprise birthday party accomplished, the day of this celebration finally arrived.  Mother Nature provided a gorgeous evening.  Our parents, siblings, children and friends were in our back yard, waiting to shout the customary “Surprise!”, as I led my husband outdoors to enjoy the delightful weather.  Cards were opened, read, laughed at, and passed around for all to enjoy.  “Happy Birthday” was sung as I presented the turtle cheesecake, complete with a few lit candles, to my husband.  As I predicted, my husband and our party guests thoroughly enjoyed this birthday cake substitute.

The surprise birthday party I planned for my husband turned out to be exactly what he likes most…a simple get-together with our family; enjoying the easy banter among loved ones; appreciating the time spent in each other’s company.  He laughed at the funny cards, romped in the grass with the children, teased his brothers, and especially savored his birthday cheesecake.

When the party ended and everyone had gone, my dear husband thanked me profusely for having the kind of party he truly appreciated.  I asked him if he had any suspicion about the surprise.  He replied, “I kind of suspected something was going to happen”.  At least the exceptional turtle cheesecake was a surprise!

Kids Birthday Party Kits Make it Fun

without comments

Kid’s birthday parties are supposed to be fun and pleasurable.  That is what makes them remarkable.  All those smiles on the kids’s faces, most especially on the birthday celebrant can be quite remarkable and a precious gift that parents can give to their youngsters.  Preparing for such parties can take some work, but buying one of the various party kits available helps to chop the time and effort you’ll be required to give.

Of course there are some things that folks have to consider when planning what kids birthday party supplies are needed.  Whether it’s a grand birthday bash or merely a easy affair, the preparations and the planning that go into it can impact how it will fare out.  When organizing a kid’s party, using any of the birthday celebration kits sold in stores and online greatly reduces the preparation time.

Before arranging a kid’s birthday party, the main organizers ( usually the parents ) should come up with a planned budget.  All the preparations required for the party would depend on how much the oldsters will be ready to spend.  There isn’t any sense in buying one of the costlier birthday party kits if you have a budget that is more in accordance with a smaller, cheaper kit.

After the budget has been agreed upon, thenext thing on the agenda would customarily be the theme for the birthday party.  This might not be too much of an issue ( maybe except on the expense side ) since the celebrant would have the 1st say.  Folks can only suggest the possible birthday party kits.  It is important the birthday celebrant has the right to select.

After the theme, choosing a venue would be the very next thing to think about.  There are numerous selections available for parents.  The most simple one would be utilizing one of the birthday party kits at your house.  The home would supply the most ideal venue where parents and organizers may be able to have more control over what happens in the party.  What’s more, a celebration at home often is more cost-effective than having it any place else.

However, if a kid has already had too many birthday parties at home, perhaps another location could be a possibility.  Having an outside location for a birthday party may carry with it some excitement and several other means for children to have a good time.  A good venue would be the local gym, a pizza parlor, or perhaps at the miniature golfing course.  That would definitely add up some fun factor to any birthday party.  The only downside to such venues is that it can add up to a considerable cost for the organizers of the party.

Parents and organizers of the birthday should also consider the weather when considering an outdoor party.  There can be times when it might not be as co-operative.  A sudden rain shower can mess up even the most lovely outside birthday in just a second.  When planning a kid’s birthday party out of doors, parent should try and check the weather conditions more frequently.

It’d be better to ensure that this wouldn’t be a difficulty by having the kid’s birthday party inside.  But if it is out of the query, it also pays to prepare for any unexpected weather related events previously.  Preparing for an alternative venue nearby or just having umbrellas on hand may help.  It is such measures that can help salvage an otherwise ruined kid’s birthday party.

Comparing the risks concerned can help prevent making the wrong decisions later.  Buying one of many fabulous birthday party kits produced by various firms reduces a bit of the risk, as the youngsters are bound to enjoy all that comes with these kits.

Organizing a Birthday Party For Kids

without comments

Before you know it, your kid’s birthday is coming soon! As the day is fast approaching, you find yourself searching for ways to make the celebration extra special, more than your child had in his previous birthdays. But just as how often you do the organizing for your child’s party, you always see yourself going back to zero and start with the planning stage all over again.

If you want to plan a birthday party, it’s not difficult, I give you some some tips to make the birthday party as fun and memorable the way you wanted it to be.

Brainstorming
You may want to do some brainstorming to come up with some ideas for the birthday party. It will be good to do it with your children. If you’re going to celebrate a first birthday party for your only child, get ideas and inspirations from other family members and friends. Asking others for ideas could help make your organizing faster and more fool-proof. Keep in mind, birthday party planning is not one person’s effort, it requires help from everyone.

Derive a Checklist
Once you are done with brainstorming, you need to look for party supplies. From the birthday cake, foods, drinks, venue, number of guests; they must be included in your checklist. To make everything well planned and organized, jotting these down to a notebook will help. If you plan for a party, writing down the nitty-gritty will play a big role in your planning stage. This is also the time where you can weigh things carefully. If you are aiming for a particular cake for the party, compare the prices and put that in your checklist. This will help you in coming up with an almost perfect checklist, listing the particulars for your child’s party. Lastly, if you don’t want to miss a single detail for the big day, providing a checklist will make a big difference.

The Invitation Cards
The next important thing to look at is the guests invitation. If you’re holding a child’s party, most of the time you will have guests who are more or less the same age as your birthday child, plus parents who may turn up too. With this, always plan it as 1 + 1 invitation: one child will come with one parent. Ensure that you must give the invitation at least 2 weeks ahead, ideally at least one month in advance. The rationale is that this will allow the invited guests to keep that timeslot free for your kids party.

The Birthday Party Itself
Planning doesn’t stop at the actual day of the party. The day of the party is the realization of your plans. Organizing a birthday party means to be in constant monitor of the whole party until the party ends, making sure that everything that is planned is well delivered and put into action.

Planning a birthday party is not smooth-sailing, but all the efforts and hard work should be worthwhile just by seeing a smile on your child’s face as he whoops it up and enjoy his big day.

Plan A Kids Birthday Party Now

without comments

It’s going to be your kid’s birthday soon! As the day approaches, you find yourself searching for ways to make the celebration extra special, more than your child had in his previous birthdays. But just as how often you do the organizing for your child’s party, every time you plan a birthday party you are back to frustrating moments again.

If you want to plan a birthday party, it’s not difficult, here are some help to make the birthday event as wonderful and memorable the way you wanted it to be.

Brainstorming of Party Ideas
To plan a birthday party means to come up with bright ideas with your spouse and the rest of your children. If you’re going to celebrate a first birthday party for your only child, get ideas and inspirations from other family members and friends. You can begin asking for their ideas and inputs in making everything as organize as possible. Keep in mind, planning a birthday party for your kid requires not only one idea from one person but a group effort devised by people involved in the organizing and brainstorming stage.

Make a Checklist
If you plan a birthday party for your child, party supplies are major consideration. From the birthday cake, foods, refreshments, venue, number of guests; they must be included in your checklist. To make everything well planned and organized, jotting these down to a notebook will help. If you plan for an event, taking note of the details will play a big role at the planning stage. At this stage you will need to consider things carefully. If you are aiming for a particular cake for the party, you can compare prices and list cake prices down on your checklist. This will help you in creating an almost perfect checklist, listing the details for your child’s party. Lastly, if you don’t want to miss a single detail for the actual day, providing a checklist will make a big difference.

Sending Out The Invitation Cards
The party will not be complete without invitations for the guests. If you’re holding a kid’s party, guests mostly involve little children the same age as your child accompanied by their parents or guardians. Keep this in mind, you need to count in the number of people that will accompany a child in the party. Take note that you must give the invitation at least 2 weeks before the party, ideally at least 1 month in advance. The rationale is that this will allow the invited guests to keep that calendar slot booked for your kids party.

The Actual Day Just when you thought the organizing stage is through the moment the party is being held, it doesn’t. The day of the party is the action of your program. Organizing a birthday party means to be in constant monitor of the whole party until it comes to an end, making sure that everything that is planned is well delivered and put into action.

Organizing a birthday party is not smooth-sailing, however all your effort and hard work will be worthwhile when you see your child gleam with joy.

Planning A Birthday Party

without comments

birthday party

The next time you are in charge of planning a birthday party, try not to stress too much over it. If you are trying to come up with ideas on how to ensure that it is a great birthday for someone special, then consider throwing some type of a theme party. It can be relatively easy to come up with ideas for the type of party you should plan by considering the person’s age, gender and most importantly, their personality.

For example, for a “Sweet 16″ get together, consider a Glamour Shots type of party complete with gowns, gloves, makeup, etc. This is a perfect birthday bash for your teen as they can get dressed up in whatever they want and apply make-up and then be ready for their close-up. It is a good idea to start gathering different types of clothes and shoes; a thrift shop is ideal for choosing some clothes. It is advisable to have each girl bring their own brush and make-up or you can purchase individual kits for each girl and let them keep them as party favors. You can make a copy of the pictures and include them with a thank you note from the birthday girl.

If you are looking for a unique and fun theme for a birthday party, then consider having a movie night theme. It is relatively easy to plan. For the invitations you can make movie tickets with Admit One on each one and all of the birthday bash information on them as well. For refreshments, you can put out bowls of popcorn and sodas and the birthday cake can be decorated as an old-fashioned film reel or something similar.

For an unforgettable winter birthday bash consider a beach theme. For the invitations, purchase several beach balls and write the party information on them in permanent ink with instructions to blow them up when they are received. You can also ask everyone to come dressed in beach attire, Hawaiian shirts, etc. You can hang beach towels on the walls, scatter some seashells around the room and hang fish nets for an authentic feel. For a truly amazing effect, if you don’t mind the mess, you can cover the floor with sand.

Party planning for a teen’s birthday can be a little intimidating, but consider creating invitations done in calligraphy style, rolled up as a scroll and tied with a ribbon inviting everyone to a Medieval Time birthday party. Perhaps have a birthday cake that has been decorated as an elaborate castle and have friends dress as King and Queen to greet the guests at the door. This type of party is a sure hit with the birthday boy or girl and their friends.

How to Plan a Stress Free Birthday Party for Your Child

without comments

A Stress Free Kids Birthday Party

Organizing a kids birthday party should be stressful for if you take time for a little planning. To help parents organize simple yet successful birthday parties for their kids, here are some tips for you:

1. Determine the theme. The theme of the party will greatly depend on the age of the child. For one year olds, it is best to have a theme that everyone can relate to. In short, you can come up with a general theme such as your kid’s favorite character or TV show and the like. For older kids, you can ask them what they want for their party. If they have not decided yet, suggest kiddie themes such as Harry Potter theme, Pirates theme or Cowboys’ theme for the boys. For the girls, you can suggest Fairy theme or Princess theme. First, find a theme for the party, then the rest of the steps will follow.

2. Estimate how many adults and kids that will be on your guest list. This is the next best thing to do after the theme. You can start with the immediate family members, cousins, uncles and aunties, grandparents, god parents. Then, the friends of your child in the neighborhood and his or her classmates if he or she is already in school. Knowing how many people will be attending will give you an idea how big the party that you need to prepare is and how large the place needs to be to hold the party.

3. Find a fitting place. For some parents, their home is the most fitting location for small parties. But if there will be many guests, it is best to find a location where everybody can move freely. You can consider the nearby theme park or a playhouse inside a mall for the location. In choosing your location, be especially aware of a kid friendly enviroment.

4. Set the time. Most birthday parties are usually held in the afternoon, or at least after nap time if younger siblings might come. But, depending on the availability of your guests as well as of the venue, you can schedule it earlier, like before lunchtime or during lunch itself.

5. Do the invitation and send it in advance. You can make your own invitations that bears the brand of the theme or you can buy ready made ones from craft stores. Some venues, such as the pizza theme parks, will provide you with invitations as part of their party packs. Birthdayinabox.com is a good choice for getting all the invitations, partyware, toys and other do-dads with the most popular kids theme all in one package. The most important thing is that you have sent the invitation out early so they the parents of the attendees can arrange their schedules.

6. Call the parents of the kids that are to be invited. This is also one good way of knowing how many attendees will be there and if there are necessary preparations for the child guest,  especially ask about food allergies.

7. Make a list of the foods you can prepare. Depending on the number of guests, you can make a tentative list of the foods to be prepared. In the menu, make sure to make the selections kid-friendly. Finger foods, fruit and vegetable trays can be purchased at your grocery store or a Sam’s Club to save you time on preparations.

8. Make a list of supplies and decorations needed. This is also important so you won’t have to cram when the day comes. Ordering prepared party packages on-line can save you time and some times money because you don’t have to drive all over time to find enough of the same matching theme items.  If possible, decorate the venue a day ahead so you won’t have to worry about it when the date comes.

9. Create a program flow. Young attendees during kids birthday parties can be unruly. To maintain orderliness, try to come up with a program so they will know what to do.

How to Plan a Child’s Birthday Party

without comments

It’s amazing how quickly each year passes when you have children. It’s hard to believe how fast kids change. One month they’re crawling, the next walking. It’s so hard to keep up with them. That’s what makes kids’ birthday parties so special. Kids birthday parties honor your child--they are a celebration of how far your little one has come each year.

Planning kids birthday parties is not always a treat for parents however. It is so stressful when you want to make sure everything is so right. Often when we get caught up in finding decorations and supplies for our kids' parties, we assume all of the responsibility ourselves, because we want everything to be perfect. Don't be so hard on yourself when planning for the big celebration and remember to stay aware of others who may want (or need) to be involved.

  • Accept Help From Others

When your spouse, your child’s grandparents, or a close friend offers their help, you might be inclined to say “No, I’ve got everything under control, thanks for asking”. Don’t use this knee-jerk response just because you think it’s polite. In most cases they truly want to help, because they love your child they want to be involved, and they also don't want to watch you go out of your mind planning kids' birthday parties on your own. Give your generous volunteers something to do!

  • Involve the Siblings

When you focus on planning a birthday party  for one child often their siblings will feel alienated or left out. Your kid's birthday party is no place for animosity and sibling rivalry, although it is a common occurrence. You can involve your older children in their siblings party, not just by giving them little chores to do, but by assigning them something special that only they can do. If your little one enjoys painting, you can tell them you’d like a very special picture for thier brother or sister, and only they can make it. Or you can ask your child to take the pictures, because no one else you know does such a great job.

  • Prepare the Birthday Boy or Girl

Don’t forget to prepare your child for the spotlight. Being the center of attention can make a youg girl or boy’s head spin. Kids can often forget about manners during the hustle and bustle of a birthday celebration. If you notice a lapse it may be helpful to cue your little one to say please and thank you. Practicing by playing pretend with your child can help prepare them for their big day, with a focus on being gracious and humble. Pretending to be a little lady or gentleman can be as fun for Mommy and Daddy as it is for the child.

Every year is full of new challenges and unique developments for your child, and their birthday is the perfect time to honor them for their progress. The most memorable days in children’s lives are often their birthday parties. Why not make the planning just as memorable.

The secret to a fun planning experience may in fact be knowing where to get  your kid’s birthday  party supplies.Getting supplies for kids' birthdays is so easy when there is such a great selection of online party supply stores.Once you find everything and order it in one place, you will have much more time for the fun stuff!
